Reseña del editor My return to Imaginary Road Studios was a long awaited hope that finally came to fruition in late summer of 2012. As summer waned and autumn approached the hills of Vermont, the memorable Steinway B once again faithfully expressed the nuances of my music. The music on Passionata embraces the love and passion that can be discovered and rediscovered in each of us - not unlike trees that lose their leaves in the fall only to grow new ones in the warmth of spring. If you love classical piano and new age music combined, one of the best new collectives of the two genres is now hitting store shelves. In fact you will find the artistry and production of this album is top shelf. The marvelous sound you hear, which transcends narrowly defined genre categories into popular, easy listening music is appropriate for a wide variety of listeners. American pianist, song writer and Steinway Recording Artist Denise Young made an impression on me after listening to her brand new neo-classical new age piano with instrumentals album titled Passionata. Denise Young s new 2014 follow-up album Passionata is comparable in elegance and style to her two releases in 2007 titled Time Alone & Something You Dream Of, all of which may leave you wondering if you are listening to classic piano music by an old master like Bach, Beethoven, or Brahms. While I am far from an expert on modern classical music, I found Passionata breathtaking by the elevated emotional feel and quiet poignant phrasing on each of the 11 songs. This new album by Denise Young also has the distinction of being produced at the Imaginary Road Studio, home of famous record producers Will Ackerman and co-producer Tom Eaton. Beautiful by a distinct cinematic nuance, Denise Young s Passionata is reminiscent to the style of cinematic film music producers John Williams and Michael Nyman. The artists performing with Denise Young include: Jeff Haynes (percussion), Tom Eaton (bass), Eugene Friesen (cello), and Noah Wilding vocals). Olsen, New Age Music World Artista biografía Denise is pianist, recording artist, composer, producer, arranger, director, and music publisher on her record label Dancing Horses Music. She is a GRAMMY® voting member and her past three releases have appeared on the GRAMMY® ballots. She composes original piano-centered instrumental music that combines a contemporary style with arrangements that often include bass, cello, violin, vocalizations, percussion, acoustic and classical guitar, English horn, clarinet, and other wind instruments. Denise grew up playing many different styles of music with a strong appreciation for many styles of good music. Her musical accomplishments include three studio albums of original music, a music score for a full-length documentary, Broadway Treasures (2019) which debuted at the Globe Theater in LA. She created original scores for short films, two were shown at the LA Short Film Festival. Her music has earned nominations for Best Piano Album by Zone Music Reporter.
