Sony ILCE7S/B Alpha a7S Cámara digital sin espejo Negro

Takes beautiful low light images. It was everything I expected.

I am a professional photographer and I have owned every other A7 camera including A7, A7S, A7R, all the gen 2 versions and now the gen 3. I currently shoot on the A7riii. If you'r reading this review then you likely already know enough about what this camera's amazing low light performance and want to know if this camera is still relevant in 2019.The short answer is really depending on what you plan to use it for. At the $2,000 the answer is no for all scenarios. For $400 more you can purchase the A7sii and that's a significant upgrade which I will go into further below. However if you can find this camera for around $1,500 or less, then the answer is YES!If you're an advanced amateur or getting into the photography or the video business, then this is a great camera. It is small, light …

I bought the Sony A7S because I wanted a lighter rig for event photography. I was getting tired of lifting a 4.5 lb pro DSLR rig (including flash) to events where I'd be standing, holding the camera for 3+ hours. The A7S (with Godox flash and 24-70 F/4 lens) is half the weight of my previous DSLR rig. So mission accomplished there. In terms of usability, it took me an hour or so to get used to the menus and set the camera up the way I like it. People complain about the menus but I really didn't find it any better or worse than any other professional DSLR. If I couldn't find something I googled it and quickly got an answer to direct me to the right menu option. In terms of build quality, both the A7S and the 24-70 f/4 lens are a class act. It's very apparent this camera is a step above other …

I have been using this camera about two years now. I bought this shortly after I bought the GH4 because of the low light capacity. However, I find that I grab the GH4 much more than the A7S for a variety of reasons. It does not shoot 4K footage internally and I hate messing with the Atomos shogun and the GH4 shoots 4K internally. I hate, hate, hate that the stupid screen does not flip around so you can see from the front like the GH4. Bad for vlogging or sitting to the side in a one person interview style documentary so you can flip it out to see from the side. Also, it does not have a touch screen like the GH4 which is a huge issue for ease of use. The video quality is good for 1080P and I like the color but it is just not as functional as the GH4. I also have the Canon C100 which I …

Super slow to focus. Really painful trying to get the pictures I wanted using this camera. I returned it.

This is a preliminary and cursory review after only a few days of indoor shooting. I have been so impressed that I wanted to post this review early. To start, I am blown away with the A7S's ability to capture very usable and meaningful images on average room light. I purchased this camera hoping to shoot indoors in available and low light situations without the intrusion of flash, which was disruptive and intrusive to the events I wished to capture. Most of the images from my indoor work are posted on the web or printed 11"x14" or smaller. I recently shot about 300 images in a hospital room lighting situation, which is low to average indoor lighting. I shot in the RAW/ARW format. I used it with the Sony 28-70mm F3.5-5.6 FE OSS Interchangeable Standard Zoom Lens.First, these images cleaned …

I've had this camera now for about a month. I love the IQ, the low light performance, all the things that are unique to this sensor. What I love the most is that I can use just about any lens made for the 135 format. My favorite right now is a Super Takumar 50mm f1.4, the seven element, radioactive version, mine from 1964. Focus peaking allows me to get extremely accurate focus very quickly even with this lens wide open. This lens is the subjective superior to a lot of really high dollar glass out there right now, and I never could use it with a modern DSLR because they simply aren't designed for manual focus. There are huge benefits to having a camera optimized for video work.Low light performance is really good. I set the camera up in manual mode to the lens opening and shutter speed I …

I had little interest in this camera when it was first announced, but after reading some of the reviews I decided to give it a chance. I was hesitant for the obvious reason: 12 MP. What is this, 2008? I understand why having fewer, larger pixels results in better high-ISO performance, but the previously reigning low-light king (according to DxOMark), the Nikon Df, has 16 MP, so 12 seemed a little stingy. As a street photographer who often shoots from the hip, literally, I like to have the option to crop, and 12 MP would leave me precious little margin for error.First, the bad: Yes, 12 MP is limiting. People who tell you otherwise are either being disingenuous or only do photography where there's plenty of time to compose and adjust zoom or get closer as necessary. Any photography that …
