Sabaton, the Swedish heavy metal heroes, have dominated the European heavy metal circuit for years and received prestigious awards including Metal Hammer UK's Golden Gods Award for "Best Breakthrough Artist“.Heavy metal's most enthusiastic fan legions have seen Sabaton playing huge stadiums with Iron Maiden - but also on their own as Sabaton performed their biggest show ever in Polish Przystanek Woodstock Festival in front of more than half a million fans. More recently Sabaton commanded the troops on the holy grounds of Rockstad Falun Festival - aka Sabaton Open Air,the Ozzfest Meets Knotfest Festival in California (alongside Black Sabbath, Slipknot and others) and just this January, their biggest UK run to date supported by German metal legends Accept. For their 2012 album, “Carolus Rex”, SABATON abandoned the lyrical themes of WWII and got back to their own country, delivering an extra symphonic and epic concept album about the Swedish Empire (1561-1721) which was created in cooperation with well-known Swedish historian Bengt Liljegren. The bombastic sound was set up by iconic producer Peter Tägtgren (PAIN, HYPOCRISY), who is also featured as a guest vocalist. Additionally, the band recorded a version of the album in their native tongue. Sabaton has reached it's unshaken position as heavy metal's AAA-torchbearer after releasing ingenious studio recordings and playing endless amount of unforgettable live shows.
